  • Confront myself! Why can’t we be honest and genuine with ourselves and others?

  • Always urgent to experiment with new methods and languages. New thinking.

  • Exposure and emission of light. Light is life, opening and enlightening. But remember: it is also danger, like a weapon (just like camera). Shadow is also beauty.

  • Videography is to be with, at a distance, in presence, to listen.

  • Videography is trembling life. It is the experimental act of encountering, looking, remembering, and questioning the world to understand our new changing relationship with others and with the outside systems.

  • I will not simply use new technological machines as tools or carriers for portraying informational or representational content – this includes image-making machines, image- presenting platforms, computational image-processing softwares and others...
    • Critique dialectically weaponized history and the consumer’s function of these tools while using them reflexively.
    • A poetic expression with mere tools would not reconcile with the problem.
    • Otherwise, play, experiment and compose with materiality and matter.

  • I will not let videography/art become a tool for political ideologies or monetary purposes; this is different from using political philosophy to think and make a gesture.

  • I will not speak for others or to expect others to speak, as I can only express for myself, examine and reflect on the problems of my own.

  • Consider the act and environment of looking as mediums in and of themselves. Looking is also the transmission of light.

  • Time is an important presence to return to the body and nature. Slowness is beautiful.

  • Establish a body to body tie with videography.

  • Do not take videography for granted; do not take empathy for granted. Do not take what is produced as my own. It is like Japanese Shintoism, to be grateful for what we create and take from the nature.

  • Be playful, be destructive, be bored! Be structural, abstract, musical, uncertain! Be law- breaking, system-messing, border-crossing! It is ultimate freedom.

  • Art will always be my genuine response to the world, with solitude. I want to stay alive for it.
